Transactional Emails to Members
Here's a list of emails sent to members after they perform certain actions in GroupFront
You can customize most of the email content in the GroupFront app 'Email Settings' tab.
Member Application/Signup
Email Verification (required)
When a member applies to join your GroupFront-hosted community, they will be sent an email verification request. You cannot edit this content, as it's a GroupFront requirement.
Note: For GroupFront communities that have WhatsApp, Slack, or other chat integrations configured this email verification may not happen until the user claims their account. This is because sometimes when a member automatically gets added to a GroupFront community we may not have their email address until approved to join and their account is activated.
Application Submitted (optional)
This email can be configured, customized, or removed. Sometimes this is useful when there are additional requirements to apply, such as an interview or outside payment gate.
Member Approved
After review, GroupFront admins can approve members and 'activate' them for access to your community.
Create Profile/Password Emails (required)
This automated email is triggered upon membership approval (status = active) to enable them to create an account in GroupFront, which gives them access to the membership directory, their account profile, and more.
You can edit some of the content of these emails, but the important parts (url to click for member to create their account) will not be accessible to you. Best practices for this email are to focus on the benefits that a member will get when they create an account and join your community.
Keep in mind that in many cases members will create their profile and already have been a member of the community (perhaps for some time). So the benefits of creating an account will be primarily a) gain access to membership directory, b) update their member profile to make it easier for other community members to contact them, and c) receive newsletter updates and community alerts. (More benefits over time as the GroupFront platform evolves)
Member Created A GroupFront Profile/Account
After a member creates their GroupFront member profile/account, they will receive a welcome email.
Welcome New Member Emails (optional)
This can be fully customized.
You can also optionally add personalized groups and the referral token to make it easy for new members to refer their friends to join your community. These two sections will be personalized to each member who receives this email and cannot be customized.
Member Joined Groups
When a member joins a new group, we can optionally send them emails with group information.
Joined New Group Emails (optional)
These emails will have limited customization, as we will include information about each group dynamically.
Note: We recommend turning off this transactional email for communities with a large number of groups, especially in cases where members join/leave groups frequently. This can create a lot of emails for members, which is not a great user experience for your community.
